| 42 Waterloo Street was developed as part of National Arts Council's "Housing for the Arts" program. It entails the conservation of this existing pre-war bungalow into an Arts Centre and offices for Action Theatre. On the first storey of the restored building is a new cafe with al-fresco dining areas and the foyer. On the second storey is the "room upstairs" —an intimate black-box style flexible performance space accomodating an audience of up to 80. A modern extension at the rear houses rehearsal rooms on the 1st storey and Action Theatre's offices on the 2nd storey.
