The Future is Fun
Eschewing the traditional layout of sofa and coffee table, kzdesigns opted for pieces that make a more "futuristic" statement in this house in Singapore designed by HYLA Architects.

In order to give a more spacious feel to the ground floor of the house, architect Han Loke Kwang demolished the wall that originally divided the living and dining rooms. The "T" wood column and console introduce a strong sculptural form. Keeping the dining table small enlarges the space while a full-height glass wall leading to the kitchen directs the eyes to the new extension at the back of the house. The light box used as a table and distinctive low plastic arm-chairs—all from X-Tra Living—infuse the space with a singularly modern feel.

The sharp definition of X-tra Living's black and white armchairs, cushions and organic vases provide a dramatic contrast to the pale wood of the storage unit and wall that leads to the front entrance.
