Following the tradition of many Asian cultures, one enters this semi-detached house via an external courtyard. A koi pond divides the entrance area from a bamboo garden, behind which, lies a screened bedroom for the client's parents. The courtyard is placed next to the party wall, which is clad in granite to form a continuous feature throughout the house. The front faces West, and the master bedroom on the 2nd floor is protected from the sun by an aluminium sliding screen, whilst its ensuite bath is shielded by aluminium blades of jalousie windows.
