A house is a reflection of the owners’ lifestyle, and for this house, we conveyed their strong belief in family togetherness through its design. The heart of this home is the double volume dining/kitchen area, which is a private and important family area. Unconventionally designed to go on the second floor, it stays hidden from visitors’ eyes but is still visually linked to all three levels of the interior. This way, a visual transparency within the house is achieved without a compromise on privacy—our key concept, central to the client's requirements. On the exterior, a conspicuous block of blank wall faces the street like a blatant statement, creating a bold facade and optimal privacy. However, controlled views of the surrounding landscape and filtered indirect light allows the interior spaces to maintain a bright and airy feel.
